I really do — after all it’s a show about a mystery novelist, but it’s missing something. A big something.
There’s no magic.
None.
Not a single solitary drop.
I miss Remington Steele….

it’s a sure sign you SHOULD be doing it.
At least that’s how it works with me. Right now I’m avoiding writing a certain scene — home is in good shape, I’m trying new recipes, I’ve thrown myself into an assignment given by my creativity coach — while all this is good stuff, it’s also a sure sign I’m procrastinating…sigh.
Whenever I think what I’m writing might be too over the top, I read some news. Unfortunately, real life tends to be more horrific than anything I can imagine.
Imagine my dismay when I opened a box of Thin Mints last night and realized that one of the sleeves of cookies had TWO less than the other! A quality control issue? Or a diabolical scheme????
to discuss my latest screenplay.
At least that’s the way the day was going to pan out in my dream.
Haven’t yet been able to shake the disappointment that I’m not….
A long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away (aka when I was in high school) I was convinced I would write the book: Codename Chameleon.
Before that, I was convinced I was going to go to Witch Mountain with Eddie Albert, and have it confirmed that I’m not from this planet.
Now The Rock is racing to Witch Mountain and I’m still thinking Codename Chameleon applies….
I just got around to reading the latest posts at murderati.com. Robert Gregory Browne and Tess Gerritsen have both outdone themselves.
I turned in for the pilot episode of Castle last night, because there was no way I could pass up a show that features a mystery novelist consulting with the police (yeah, it is a little like Murder, HE Writes for a new generation).
It was worth it if only because they somehow mananged to snag both James Patterson and Stephen Cannell for an INSPIRED scene.
Beyond that, it was a decent pilot Not the best, not the worst. The mystery was predictable, but considering they only had an hour, they did a pretty good job of introducing quite a few characters. (Castle’s mother, played perfectly by Susan Sullivan, is pure (evil) genius.)
What did you think of it?
