Happy Halloween!

Yeah, I know it’s actually August, but my local supermarket has all of their Halloween crap out alread. This includes a ghost that “moans” and a witch that “cackles” both of which work off motion sensors. Therefore they moan and cackle every freakin’ thirty seconds. I told the cashier that I’d consider it justifiable homicide if she decides to strangle the marketing genius who set them up with an oversized length of Twizzler.

  1. Isn’t it ridiculous? I love Halloween, don’t get me wrong, and I’m thrilled to sea fall themed items because it reminds me there is an end to dismal summer, but this idea that people will buy holiday items two or three months in advance is just stupid. Who stocks up on Halloween candy in August? Or Christmas cards in September? Unless they’re super cheap, which they’re not – it’s not worth buying stuff too early. Why don’t marketers know that?
