I’m 12 at heart

I was a very, very, very, very serious and responsible child.

Which may explain why I’m now regressing rapidly.

This wknd my sunglasses broke (one of the arms just fell off, confirming that yes, I’ve got screws loose). Because I had a long drive ahead of me the next day, I desperately needed a new pair, which is why I was standing in a CVS at nine at night driving My Beloved Long-Suffering crazy trying on pair after pair of shades.

Now the reason I say I’m 12 at heart (I betchya thought I’d forgotten about that) is that all the pairs that I really, really liked were labelled “Hannah Montana”. With a minimum of head-shaking on his part,  Beloved Long-Suffering was the one that pointed this out (because I didn’t even notice that all of those covered sprinkled with glitter and in fabu shades of pink were meant to be worn by kids –duh!).

In my defense, they were fun and they fit (okay, apparently I’ve got the head of a twelve-year-old too). Finally Long-Suffering found a pair meant for grown-ups that weren’t “too big” or “too boring” — just call me Goldilocks. They’re just right.
