Writing Can Be Murder

I turned in for the pilot episode of Castle last night, because there was no way I could pass up a show that features a mystery novelist consulting with the police (yeah, it is a little like Murder, HE Writes for a new generation).

It was worth it if only because they somehow mananged to snag both James Patterson and Stephen Cannell for an INSPIRED scene.

Beyond that, it was a decent pilot Not the best, not the worst. The mystery was predictable, but considering they only had an hour, they did a pretty good job of introducing quite a few characters. (Castle’s mother, played perfectly by Susan Sullivan, is pure (evil) genius.)

What did you think of it?
