Three weeks done for 2010

I have to say I had an awesome week full of firsts for me.

Note that I didn’t say the “firsts” were awesome.

Tuesday — I ran for a mile straight. For the first time. Ever.
(In October I did a combo of walking and running for the 13.1 mile marathon, so it wasn’t the distance that was a big deal for me, but the fact I didn’t need a walk break.)

Thursday — I ran for two miles straight. For the first time. Ever.

Thursday I also got uber-excited because I finally, finally, finally nailed the plot of my WIP (suspense/mysteries are tricky beasts imho).

Friday — I baked a cake. From scratch. For the first time. Ever.
(and omg it was so good that I may banish cake mixes forever)

Saturday — I ran a mile straight of hill repeats. For the first time. Ever.
(this on a hill I’d never managed to run all the way up before. Saturday I ran up and down three whole times — it’s a pretty steep hill and a decent size considering three laps equalled a mile)

Now I KNOW that none of these is an awesome accomplishment, but damn they felt good!

  1. These are all awesome accomplishments! Not many people even set goals these days, far less surpass them. Way to go!

  2. Thanks, Jennifer! I’m a bit worried this week may be a bit of a letdown, lol.
