What’s cookin’ Tuesday 2/23

Squash was the ingredient of the week last week. Both the Butternut Squash Soup and the Curried Squash and Chickpeas turned out well.

I bought the world’s fattiest chicken this week. Something I didn’t realize until I had to skim the fat off my soup stock a dozen times. ((sigh)) I added collard greens to the soup — an ingredient I’d never tried (what can I say? I’m a true Yankee, lol) and it was pretty good.

This week I’ll be trying a stew recipe that contains peanut butter — not sure how that works because I’d think the pb would break up when exposed to heat….

So what’s on your menu?

  1. Last night I had ice cream for dinner–bourbon ice cream with cornflakes in it. Who knows about tonight. I’m living on the edge these days.

  2. Mmmmm…does bourbon ice cream taste anything like rum raisin? If so, yum! The cornflakes not so much though…

BTW are ya livin’ on the edge because you had ice cream for dinner? or because of the wacky combo?

  3. I’m experimenting with organic produce this week. We’ll see how the sudden lack of additives and and pesticides affects me.
