What’s cookin’ Tuesday 3-2-10

I had two of my favorite foods this week…and I didn’t make either of them, lol.

Arugla Pizza — our local pizza place makes a killer pizza — think a white pizza, topped with chunks of tomatoes and a ton of arugula (or as our friend said (with evident distaste, “it’s a salad”.) The peppery arugula really makes it special.

Birthday cake — our local bakery makes the best birthday cake — layers of yellow cake separated with raspberry and apricot filling, topped with marzipan and coated with the thinnest layer of buttercream to hold on the dusting of slivered almonds. Heaven! (even the chocolate lovers in our group seemed to really enjoy it)

Yes, I was one lucky gal.

Did you have anything that good this week?

  1. I discovered a restaurant here called Brooklyn Brothers Pizzeria and OMG, I didn’t know it was possible to find NY-style pizza in Seattle! I’m officially addicted. There go my thighs.

Happy birthday again, Jen! That cake sounds incredible.

  2. Saturday I indulged in some mini-raspberry cheesecakes from Whole Foods. They were awesome. Last night my husband brought home some marzipan mushrooms…they’re much more innocent than they sound, really.

  3. Jenny — Yay for finding decent pizza! And thanks for the birthday wishes.

Jennifer — Ooooh marzipan mushroooms…it boggles the mind.
