What’s cookin? 4-6-10

Yesterday I tried a recipe for “sunrise slaw” (or maybe it was “sunset” because who the hell would want to eat slaw in the morning?) to have with tuna melts.

Didn’t love it. Didn’t particularly like it. Basically it’s carrots, cabbage, mayo, cider vinegar, salt, pepper and sugar. I’m thinking that the fact I used fake fat free mayo screwed up the flavor. Next time I think I’ll try adding some chili powder…or maybe curry….yeah, I bet curry would work well, a chopped up granny smith and some raisins…or maybe craisins.

Did you eat anything new, different, spectacular or awful this week?

  1. We found an Indian restaurant FINALLY. We’d been looking for awhile since we always loved Indian food back in Toronto, and then finally I got the lightbulb idea to check Yelp for reviews (I’m a slow one, I am). Found a great restaurant not too far from where we live and the food was to die for. Started with all the favorites… tikka masala (chicken in a butter tomato sauce) with basmati rice, fresh out of the oven garlic naan, samosas, and kheer (rice pudding) for dessert. Yum.
