A big birthday for Nancy Drew

The old gal has been around for 80 years (or 98 if you figure she was 18 when the series started).

Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys were the first “crime” novels I read.

In case you were wondering, I always liked George more than Nancy.

And I liked the Hardy Boys better than Nancy.

But I’m still giving her her due.

  1. I was a huge Nancy Drew and Hardy Boy fan. I started with ND and managed to collect all of the books. I never fail to remind my parents that as a preteen all my allowance money was spent on books. I didn’t finish the Hardy Boy collection before the TV show came out and my passion for reading was momentarily pre-empted by my passion for mooning over Shaun Cassidy.
