Reading, Watching, Listening 5-19-10

Haven’t read anything worth mentioning.

Listening to the 1812 Overture…not sure why.

Watching — Sherlock Holmes was a disappointment

Last Chance Harvey was a nice, grown up movie

What about you?

  1. Reading: Just finished the first 3 books of the Anne of Green Gables series. No particular reason why — I bought them used a couple of weeks ago for 2 bucks each.

Watching: Still making my way through the second season of True Blood. Lots of finales coming up this week and next for shows I like, so it will be a great couple weeks of TV, and then I’ll be suffering from withdrawal. Rented Leap Year the other night and it was totally predictable, but it was set in Ireland so that was nice.

Listening: Amy Winehouse. Wish she’d make another album.

  2. I’m still working my way thorugh Book of the Dead by Patricia Cornwell. Ugh. I bought a Kathy Reich’s book at a garage sale this weekend, which I’m pretty sure I’ll enjoy more.

Not listening to anything in particular.

Watching the last two episodes of LOST in preparation for the series finale on Sunday.

  3. Have you read the Spellman series by Lisa Lutz? I just read the last two books–I think you’d like them. RIght now I’m reading Julie and Julia, and before I read a Harlan Coben book.

The last thing I watched was the Rock in a movie where he becomes the Tooth Fairy. The only redeeming factor of that movie: the Rock was in it. Otherwise I might have poked my eyes out with a fork. To my defense, it was on an airplane and I was a captive audience.

And lastly, listening to a random mix that includes Jason Mraz, Goo Goo Dolls, Damien Rice, Peter Murphy, and Orishas. It doesn’t compare to the 1812 Overture. 😉

  4. Jenny — reading books you’ve loved before is comfort food for the soul!

I can’t see myself getting thru Leap Year.

  5. Jennifer — Wow, you’ve been reading the Cornwell book for a long time. I would have quit by now.

    Enjoy the Lost finale!

  6. Kate — LOL, the first Lutz book is on my list to read in a week or so. I’m probably going to read Coben’s latest too.

The things we’ll watch or read when stuck on an airplane.

I’ve shifted from 1812 to vintage Melissa Etheridge…how’s that for a hard shift? lol

  7. I finally finished the book – and fortunately a good friend gave me something new to read yesterday 😉
