Writing Can Be Murder

Reading, Watching, Listening — Wednesday 7/14/10

Reading — an awesome novel which I can’t tell you about (yet) and the text book for my literacy volunteer course (aka — homework hell). I’m thinking that the title of a literacy book should be an actual word…it’s not.

Oh, and did anyone happen to notice that both Harlan Coben and David Baldacci had pieces in Sunday’s PARADE? (Coben is a regular contributor, but it still tickled me that two thriller writers were in the tiny mag)

Watching — Loving the fact they’ve brought in HG Wells as the baddie on this season of Warehouse 13.

Listening — STILL listening to the Lisa Lutz book (SO much quicker to read a book than to listen to it)

What’s been entertaining YOU?

  1. Reading: The third DEXTER (still) but I can’t stop eyeing UNDER THE DOME, which is sitting on my nightstand.

    Watching: Nothing much this week.

Listening: Velvet Underground. Trying to set the mood for the current WIP.

  2. I’m getting a kick out of Warehouse 13 this season. The show has just enough quirk factor to keep me coming back.

I’m looking for a new book to read…I tried Price and Prejudice and Zombies and couldn’t get past the first page.

  3. READING – Finally reading a “thriller”-I bet a friend I would read James Paterson(5 books) if she reads Pillars of the Earth. Just finished Cat & Mouse, moving on to Jack & Jill now – I so surprised. READING-I never really like murder books(sorry), also reading as usual 1/2 marathon & marathon books, I have a BET with myself for something. Did read a great thriller a couple of years ago, even got an autograph from the fab author, I am STILL WAITING on the sequel though, I TRUST one day it will come out 😉
Any recommends for JP Books? Going to read Along Came a Spider too, I need 2more. Someone said
WATCHING — Season 1 of MONK again, I love him.

LISTENING – totally a SHOWTUNES week, I saw broadway friend who has affiliations with directors, so in a Les Mis, and Wicked mood! My musical taste is baffling.

  4. Jenny — Does each of your manuscripts come with a soundtrack?

Jennifer — P,P&Z had such hype…sorry you were disappointed with it.

Running — I’m a fan of classic JP fan, so I’d say Kiss the Girls…You might enjoy his books about the flying kids more. I think they started with When the Wind Blows and then the Lake House. Personally, I didn’t like these all that much, but they’re his best sellers worldwide…so obviously someone did, lol.

And you could give Suzanne’s Diary for Nicholas a try…it’s more of a love story…but a suspenseful one. Hope that helps!
